How would you describe your art?

Mixed media non-objective paintings

Who is an artist that inspires you & why?

Jackson Pollock. Ive always been mesmerized by the way he could build up depth by layering color in a non traditional way.

Describe your creative process.

I usually start with a resist method. Laying out basic movement with large strokes. Then I look for interesting patterns within the first layer and start building from there. Layering and layering to give the viewer a sense of depth like peering into a vast space.

What are your favorite materials or mediums to work with?

I work primarily on paper with ink , acrylic, and pastel.

What is the most influential piece of art that you have experienced? Tell us about what it means to you.

Monet’s water lillies. Seeing them in a book or photograph is nothing like sitting on a bench and looking at one full size. Some of them are wall size.
