Utilizing a propane and oxygen torch, glass rods are melted, shaped and designed then annealed in a kiln. The glass I use is a 104COE and includes Moretti, Effetre, Vetrofond and Lauscha. The jewelry and gift items that are made with these beads are created with high quality findings.

When I see color combinations, I am inspired to create beads and gifts using those colors. I have mimicked the colors in nature, and those created with lighting and frequently have created beads from popular art pieces. The longer I am working at the torch, the more ideas I have that I want to create with glass.

There are so many different types of art! I paint with glass! When you see a design on one of my beads, know that I have melted and “pulled” the glass into a thin “stringer” to paint the design onto the bead that I have created.

“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” – Pablo Picasso
This quote probably sums up the reason I create my beads. They are something more…something non-routine, something to show for being on earth.

The highlight of my art experience was winning “Honorable Mention” in a juried art show with a glass vial pendant that I created.
